Advanced AI systems are progressing faster than public understanding and institutional preparation. Most AI safety information, research, and policy discussion remains concentrated in English-language professional circles. HASI exists to make that work accessible, relevant, and actionable for U.S. Hispanic communities.
What HASI is today, and what it is building toward.
Today
HASI is an early-stage initiative. Its current work includes bilingual explainers, talks, briefings, public communication, relationship-building, and research informed by the AI safety community.
Building toward
HASI aims to develop educational programs, trusted institutional partnerships, a professional and civic network, and meaningful Hispanic participation in advanced AI governance.

Leadership
Tobias Martin
Founder
Tobias Martin works in AI safety communications at the Machine Intelligence Research Institute. He created @eltechbro, a Spanish-language media presence focused on advanced AI and its risks, and holds a Future of Life Institute grant supporting a Spanish-language video series. He is a fellow in the MARS program at the Cambridge AI Safety Hub. Before entering AI safety, he worked in education policy and holds an M.Ed. from Harvard University and a B.S. from Minerva University.
